British Standard Pipe Parallel (BSPP)

British Standard Pipe Taper (BSPT)

The BSPP connection is similar to National Pipe Straight Mechanical (NPSM), except the the thread pitches are different in most sizes. The BSPP female swivel has a tapered nose/Globeseal flareless swivel which seals on the cone seat of the male.

The BSPT connection is similar to National Pipe Tapered Fuel (NPTF), except the thread pitches are different in most sizes. The thread form and outside diameters are close, but not the same. Sealing is accomplished by thread distortation.

A thread sealant is recommended.

[SS316] Stainless Steel BSP Fittings

Metric Fittings

British Standard Pipe (BSPP and BSPT) fittings made from Type 316 Stainless Steel for maximum corrosion resistance. Stainless steel is recommended for marine applications, chemical processing and other harsh operating conditions.

DIN specifications are controlled by Germany, but other countries use them as a reference for their connector and port designs. All metric fittings are measured in millimeters. Unless otherwise specified, the size refers to the outside diameter.

Metric Compression Tube Fittings

Japanese Cone Seat (JIS 30°)

Metric dual-purpose (port or tube) fittings in a wide variety of sizes and configurations. Metric tube nuts and sleeves are sold separately.

The JIS 30° is similar to the SAE 37° flare (JIC) connection. However, the flare angle and dimensions are different. The threads are similar to BSPP.
